Honoring My Temple · Episodes 21 & 22

Do this Fall Reset with me.

I spent the summer outside my normal structure, and I could feel it. So from September through November, I’m recommitting to eight simple practices—four daily, four weekly—and I’d love for you to join me.

Below you’ll find everything you need to do the Fall Reset with me: the eight daily and weekly habits, simple printouts to help you make your plan and track your progress, and resources to help you put each habit into practice.

Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.Proverbs 16:3

The Fall Reset podcast series

Listen, then reset with me.

The Fall Reset started with a simple realization: I’d gotten out of some of the habits and structure that help me feel and live my best. These episodes are about what I’m doing to get back on track—and why I believe preparation, practice, and small faithful choices matter so much.

The four weekly practices - fasting, purposeful self-growth, community and Sabbath - are coming in the next episode. They're already on the printouts.

Where Have I Drifted?

Take an honest look at the eight areas of the reset, then use four simple questions to identify what has slipped and where you want to get back on track.

Plan

Daily & Weekly Habits

Keep the eight practices in front of you: four to practice daily and four to practice each week, with God at the center of it all.

Track weekly

My Week on Track

Use the weekly checklist to follow through on your daily and weekly practices. Check them off as you go—faithfulness, not perfection.

Track through fall

September, October & November

Keep the bigger picture in view with three monthly trackers designed to help you stay consistent all the way through November.

Make the plan. Create the structure. Commit it to God. And let’s do this together.

The four daily practices

What I’m recommitting to, every day.

None of these are new. That’s the point. Getting back on track usually isn’t about finding something new. It’s about consistently doing the things we already know matter.

Exercise

I’m aiming for thirty minutes a day, with strength training at the core. And on the days when thirty minutes just isn’t going to happen? Ten minutes is my minimum. It’s not the goal—it’s how I keep “not enough” from turning into nothing.

God-given foods

I’m keeping food simple: building most of my meals around good protein and God-given foods—especially vegetables and fruit. Nothing complicated. But eating simply still takes preparation, so part of this commitment is making sure the foods I want to eat are actually in the house when I need them.

Prayer and time in the Word

The foundation underneath the other three. Give God the first part of the day - before the phone, before email. Even fifteen intentional minutes in Scripture will change how you walk into the rest of it.

Gratitude

Each day, I’m naming three specific things from the previous twenty-four hours that I’m grateful for—usually ordinary things. The point is to train myself to notice God’s goodness in the life I’m already living.

Alongside these, four weekly practices - fasting, purposeful self-growth, time with community, and Sabbath. They're already on the printouts, and Kelly walks through them in the next episode.

Where it starts

Getting off track happens without noticing.

One missed workout becomes two, then three, and before you know it a whole week has gone by. That week becomes scattered effort, and little by little something you were once committed to has slipped away.

The same thing happens with eating. With time in the Word. With sleep. With any commitment you've made toward becoming healthier, wiser or stronger.

We can easily drift out of good habits. But we don't drift into them.

Getting back on track requires intentionality. Not a harder plan - a simpler one, decided ahead of time, with God at the center of it. That is what preparation means: putting boundaries around the things that matter instead of relying on yourself to make the right call in the moment, over and over again.

"The plans of the diligent lead to profit as surely as haste leads to poverty." - Proverbs 21:5

Tools to help you follow through

You know what you want to do.
Let’s make it easier to do it.

Good intentions are a start. But sometimes we need a little structure, a simpler option, or something already prepared for us. These are the resources I use and recommend to make the daily practices of the Fall Reset easier to follow through on.

When the day gets away from you

28 in Under 8

Busy day? Short on time? Your workout window disappeared somewhere between everything else you had to do?

I’ve got you. 28 in Under 8 gives you 28 strength workouts, each under eight minutes. Pick one, grab your dumbbells, and get it done.

Imagine committing to just one eight-minute workout a day for the next month. You don’t need a perfect schedule. You don’t need an hour. But 28 days from now, you’ll know you showed up—and I think you’ll notice the difference.

28 in Under 8 is included with every SoulStrength Fit membership.
